Teen Advisory Group

The mission of the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is to inspire creative youth-driven opportunities for Ypsilanti Area teens by building meaningful connections at the library and in the broader community.

Two library advisories meet regularly, one at the downtown YDL-Michigan location and one at the township’s YDL-Whittaker location. All high school students interested in making a difference in the Ypsi community and having a voice at the library are encouraged to apply using the form below.

YDL-Michigan: First Saturdays, 3:30pm
YDL-Whittaker: Second and Fourth Tuesdays, 4:30pm

In addition, we meet as a joint advisory once or twice per semester, most recently as part of a Youth Leadership program facilitated by the Neutral Zone.

Both groups focus on leadership opportunities at the library and beyond. At the library, advisory members plan, market and implement programs for teens, volunteer at youth programs and organize teen fieldtrips. In the community, members of the YDL-Michigan advisory participate in the quarterly Youth Summit and members of the YDL-Whittaker advisory will help clean up the community at Ypsi Pride Day in the spring. Projects change each semester as new members join and share new ideas.

Develop leadership skills, build your resume, serve your community, meet friends, collaborate with youth from across the district, be heard!
