Unraveling Oliver

Oliver Ryan is a successful children’s book author; his wife of 20 years, Alice, is the illustrator of his books.  One evening at dinner, Oliver beats Alice into a comatose state. No one can understand why this happened. The rest of this engrossing novel examines Oliver’s behavior from the point of view of his friends, family members, lovers and employers in alternating chapters which gradually unravel the mystery that is Oliver.  It is a page-turner, easily read in one sitting as you must find out the answer to this puzzle; the suspense builds with each new clue.  We also hear Oliver’s side of the story throughout the book, and get to know him as an almost sympathetic character due to the abandonment and abuse he suffered as a young boy.  An excellent psychological thriller.
